If you grew up going to sleepaway camp in the US or Canada, this is the one that will feel familiar. Camp Taiwan runs a genuinely North American-style residential camp on a private site in the Wanli mountains: tent-cabins, color teams, campfire songs, and a core week of rock climbing, river tracing, archery, a giant swing, and zipline. Everything runs in English, with counselors recruited from North America, Europe, and across Asia.
That makes it a fit from two directions. International-school families get the classic camp week without flying anywhere. Local families get an English environment that isn't another classroom, kids absorb the language by living in it for six days, not by drilling it.
Kids coming back for multiple weeks alternate between two themes (Classic Camp Taiwan and Medieval Times for 2026) so the crafts and evening games stay fresh while the core activities stay the same. Teens aged 13–16 run on a parallel track with leadership exercises and a few extras the younger kids don't get, like ocean kayaking when conditions allow.
Registration
Here's the thing about this camp: it fills. By mid-June 2026, the first July session was already full for girls and teens, and session 3 was full for youth boys. If you have your heart set on an early-summer week, you want to be registering in winter, not spring.
We track when every camp on this site opens registration. Drop your email and we'll ping you when Camp Taiwan opens for the next season, before the popular sessions fill.
One email when registration opens. That's it.
Good to know
Pricing is refreshingly public: NT$23,000 (youth) or NT$25,000 (teen) per 6-day session, with group discounts down to NT$20,000–22,000 if you can rally 11+ kids. Most camps in Taiwan make you ask. This one doesn't.
Some charges are non-refundable once you register, read the camp's notice before you commit a busy summer calendar to it.
Kids sleep in weatherproof tent-cabins in small supervised groups. Real camp, not a hotel with activities.
There's a separate Mandarin immersion week in mid-June aimed at overseas families. It closed early in 2026, so if that's your target, treat it as a January decision.
Not sure your kid is ready for a sleepaway week? Spring and fall family camp weekends run on the same site, a low-stakes way to preview it together first.
