STEAM Maker · ~Ages 6–12 · Mandarin · Small Groups
CIO Maker School is the small-group option in the Mandarin STEAM space, camps run at a 1:4 teacher-to-student ratio, which is dramatically tighter than the typical operator and shows in the kind of projects kids take on. A recent flagship had teams designing and building a dome treehouse: furniture layout, hidden mechanisms, and the circuit wiring to make it all work.
Camps are taught in Mandarin, but the operator markets in English to overseas families through its Sky Kids brand, positioning the camps as Mandarin immersion through making. That's a genuinely rare crossover: most Mandarin-immersion options are classroom language programs, and most maker camps don't think about overseas kids at all.
The home base is inside Tatung University in Zhongshan District, central and MRT-accessible, and the operator also runs after-school programs through the year, so summer camp can roll into ongoing classes for families staying in Taiwan.
