Overview
The Tze-Chiang Foundation of Science & Technology (財團法人自強工業科學基金會, TCFST) is a training foundation with its Hsinchu headquarters in a building on the National Tsing Hua University campus. It says it has been running for 50 years. Its winter list (寒假營隊) includes two-day day courses for children.
We checked four of its 2027 winter courses, all on January 21 and 22, 2027. LEGO physics (grade 2 and up) has children build small everyday tools, such as a scale, a clock and a flywheel car, to explore levers, gears and energy. Minecraft Marine Academy (grade 3 and up, age 9+) uses Minecraft Education to learn about ocean life and practice coding with MakeCode. Minecraft Universal Studio (suggested age 10 to 14+) is a team game course that adds redstone design. 小小生成AI工程師 (grade 3 and up) teaches children to write prompts to make pictures and song lyrics with AI and to edit a music video.
The Minecraft courses are taught by Sora教育團隊, founded by alumni of National Tsing Hua University's College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with one teacher for every 10 children. The AI course is taught by see wish teachers and the LEGO course by the foundation's own teachers. The list has more 2027 winter courses in Hsinchu, and at least one in Taipei, that we have not checked.
Registration
Register online on each course page (線上報名). Early bird: members who register and pay by November 30, 2026 (inclusive) pay NT$5,290 (LEGO), NT$5,699 (either Minecraft course) or NT$3,990 (AI). Members who come as a group of three pay NT$4,999 (LEGO) or NT$5,499 (Minecraft) each; tell the foundation before class. Only one discount per child, and the system confirms a discounted amount after you send the form. Pay by the deadline, or the place is cancelled.

Good to know
Drop-off is 8:00 to 9:00, when a teacher takes children up to the classroom. Pick-up starts at 16:00; from 17:30 to 18:30 children wait with a teacher in a ground-floor classroom at no extra charge.
Prices include teaching, insurance and lunch, and materials for the Minecraft and AI courses. The LEGO course adds a NT$300 kit rental fee, paid to the teacher on the first day, and the kits and builds stay in class.
What to bring: a tablet or phone for 小小生成AI工程師. Minecraft Universal Studio needs a Minecraft Java account bought in advance that logs in on a computer (not a phone or tablet). Minecraft Marine Academy asks that children can type a login in English and have tried Minecraft MakeCode before.
Minecraft is a 3D game, and the foundation warns that some children feel 3D motion sickness.
If Hsinchu City closes offices and schools for a typhoon or other disaster, that day is moved or fully refunded. Children who do not come on the day are not refunded.
