The MTC Signature Summer Program is an intensive Mandarin course for adults, run by the Mandarin Training Center at National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei. It is open to students aged 18 to 50, so it is not a children's camp. For younger learners, NTNU's Mandarin Summer Camp took ages 7 to 17 in 2026.
In summer 2026 there was an 8-week track (June 15 to August 7) and two 4-week tracks (June 15 to July 10 and July 13 to August 7). Monday to Thursday had 3 hours of group class and 1 hour of one-on-one tutoring; Friday had a weekly exam, then field trips, cultural activities, language partner time or company visits. All courses and activities were conducted in Chinese, in groups of 5 to 6, for levels from novice to advanced.
2026 tuition was NT$148,500 for 8 weeks or NT$79,000 for 4 weeks, plus a NT$3,000 registration fee that was waived for tuition paid before April 2. Dates and fees for 2027 were not published when we checked on October 15, 2026.
Registration
The application page still shows the 2026 timeline: applications by March 15 and tuition due by May 3, 2026, paid in NT dollars by credit card. Paying by April 2 waived the NT$3,000 registration fee, and confirming by February 28 also gave 5% off. Check MTC's program page for the 2027 timeline.

Eligibility is ages 18 to 50, so this program is not open to anyone under 18.
2026 tuition covered textbooks, handouts, field trips, culture classes, professional seminars, company visits, the NTNU fitness center and library, and accident insurance. It excluded airfare, housing, daily meals and Language Partner Activity costs (MTC suggests at least USD 200 for these).
MTC estimates living costs in Taipei at about USD 700 to 1,072 a month including rent, with individual rooms around USD 300 to 720 a month.
Placement is by online reading, listening and oral tests. Materials are shown in both traditional and simplified Chinese, and students may use either for homework and tests.
The 8-week track can be taken with Taiwan's Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, which is for international applicants over 18 with a high school diploma or above.
