Overview
The National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC) in Shilin, Taipei, runs lab courses, weekend workshops and school-holiday camps. Its winter 2027 camps are published on the NTSEC course store, and registration was open when we checked on October 15, 2026.
Winter 2027 has eight day camps. Four two-day camps run January 21 to 22: FPV drone flying (grades 5 to 8), AI animation (grades 3 to 6), a disaster preparedness camp (grades 3 to 6) and a Pokemon-themed nature camp taught mainly in Taiwanese. Four three-day camps run February 1 to 3: soccer drones (grades 3 to 12), an AI and micro:bit mining lab, a little Chinese medicine doctor camp and a slime science camp for grades 1 and 2.
NTSEC also ran camps in summer 2026. One example, a five-day solar energy science camp, ran August 3 to 7, 2026, 9:00 to 16:00, for elementary children, at NT$8,900 including lunch. Each camp has its own grade range, so check the camp page before you book.
Registration
Book on the NTSEC course store (estore.ntsec.gov.tw); you need an online account. Winter 2027 registration opened on October 14 or 15, 2026, depending on the camp. Each camp needs a minimum number of children to run; if it does not reach it, NTSEC tells families by phone or e-mail that it is cancelled. Good to know
Winter 2027 camps run 9:00 or 9:30 to 16:00 or 16:30. Six of the eight camp pages say lunch is provided (not stated for the two drone camps). Some camps ask children to bring their own chopsticks and a water bottle.
Grade ranges differ by camp. The slime camp is for grades 1 and 2; the FPV drone camp is for grades 5 to 8 and needs an earlier NTSEC course or a WDC level 1 drone certificate.
The Pokemon nature camp uses Taiwanese (Taiwanese Hokkien) as its main language. Grades 3 to 6 get priority; grades 1 and 2 may join if places remain.
NTSEC also sells short weekend workshops, such as Science Dungeon sessions of 50 minutes to 2 hours in November 2026 from NT$100 to NT$560.
