國語日報 (Mandarin Daily News) is a children's newspaper in Taiwan. Its Language Center in Taipei runs the Mandarin Learning Program (華語研習營) every year for overseas children aged 6 to 15. Children are placed by age and level, from complete beginners to advanced, and classes cover listening, speaking, reading and writing in traditional characters, with zhuyin (注音).
The winter 2026-27 program is published, with three sessions of 12 weekdays each: December 3 to 18, December 22 to January 8 (no class on December 25 and January 1), and January 14 to 29, 2027. The center has also posted 2027 dates: spring March 25 to April 13, summer sessions from June 3, July 6 and August 4, and winter sessions from December 7, 2027.
Families choose a format: a full day with a culture class (10:10 to 16:30), a full day of Chinese (10:10 to 14:50), an afternoon class with culture (13:00 to 16:30), or a single Chinese class. Culture activities change daily and include calligraphy, Go and ink painting. Classes meet at the center near MRT Guting Station.
Registration
Fill in the registration form online or at the office (registration form, code of conduct, parent consent and the student's passport), then pay after you receive the payment email, by bank transfer from Taiwan or abroad or in cash at the counter. Your place is confirmed once the center receives the fee. New students take a placement test before classes; returning students and complete beginners do not. Email mandarin@mdnkids.com.
