The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (國立臺灣美術館) in Taichung runs one-day visual arts camps taught mainly in Taiwanese (Taiwanese Hokkien), organized by the Ministry of Culture. Summer 2026 was free, and the theme was Art ka Dress Up (藝術ka妝媠媠): children looked at portrait works in the museum collection, then worked through describing them in Taiwanese, drama and art-making.
Summer 2026 had four one-day sessions from 09:30 to 16:30: July 15, 16 and 17 for the children's group (recommended ages 8 to 11, with July 17 at advanced level) and July 19 for the youth group (recommended ages 12 to 15). 2026 was the camp's fourth year.
It suits families who want their children to hear and use Taiwanese in a creative setting. Dates for 2027 were not published when we checked on October 15, 2026.
Registration
In summer 2026, registration was online with 40 places per session, first come until full. Each child signed up separately and a place was confirmed only by an acceptance email after review. Sign-up needed an account on the Ministry of Culture's Taiwanese Family member platform, and the form asked for the child's name and national ID number.
