Guide

In Taiwan, several university departments and their student associations run short camps for senior high students, often over a few days and nights, that give a taste of a field such as medicine, physical therapy, computer science, chemistry, business or English. National parks and arts venues run youth programs too. This guide collects the ones we have verified, each checked against official pages or brochures. Most details are from summer 2026, since summer 2027 camps have not been announced yet; a few winter 2027 camps are open now.
The NTU and NYCU physical therapy camp runs January 25 to 29, 2027 for senior high students, NT$8,900, with sign-up until November 15, 2026. Chung Shan Medical University's surgery and medical humanities camp is a two-day day camp on January 23 and 24, 2027 for grades 7 to 12, NT$3,300, with sign-up until January 18. Tunghai University's Minecraft AI camp runs January 25 to 29, 2027 for grade 8 and up, NT$14,800; families must buy a Minecraft Java Edition account and a Claude Pro subscription before it starts.
The NCKU medical camp in Tainan ran July 13 to 18, 2026 as a 6-day, 5-night camp for senior high students, NT$11,000 with lodging and meals. It took applications from March 18 to April 11 and chose campers by their application, not by sign-up order. NCHU's vet science camp in Taichung was a 3-day day camp, July 21 to 23, for junior and senior high students, NT$8,300.
NYCU's computer science department ran a 5-day, 4-night coding camp in Hsinchu, July 6 to 10, 2026, NT$8,000 with lodging and meals and no coding background needed. NCKU's aerospace camp ran July 7 to 12 (NT$8,800). National Dong Hwa University's chemistry camp in Hualien ran July 6 to 9 with lodging, NT$5,500. National Chin-Yi University of Technology in Taichung ran a 4-day AI and Python camp for grades 7 to 12, NT$4,800, and National Ilan University ran one-day circuits and AI camps for NT$200 to NT$1,500.
The NCCU English Camp in Taipei ran July 7 to 9, 2026 (3 days, 2 nights) with classes from English department professors, NT$3,800. Fu Jen's business camp in Xinzhuang ran July 6 to 9 with a stay in the university dormitory, NT$7,100. Weiwuying's youth drama camp in Kaohsiung took students entering grade 10 through university seniors; summer 2026 was NT$4,500.
Three national parks on our list ran youth camps in summer 2026. Yushan National Park ran four 3-day, 2-night climbs of Yushan Main Peak in July and August 2026 for grades 10 to 12, NT$7,300, with a night at Paiyun Lodge; sign-up ran June 8 to 19. Shei-Pa National Park's youth camp ran July 14 to 16 and August 4 to 6 for senior high and university students, and Yangmingshan National Park's 3-day, 2-night camp took ages 13 to 18. National Taiwan Ocean University in Keelung ran a free two-day ocean camp, July 4 and 5, choosing 60 students from applicants.
Many are planned and run by university students, with the department as adviser, so the program changes a little each year. Some choose campers by application rather than first come, first served. In 2026, their sign-ups ran between March and June; the summer planning guide shows the month by month timing. Several also keep free or cheaper places for students from low-income households: NYCU's coding camp was free for them, NCCU kept 3 places at NT$1,000, Fu Jen charged NT$4,000, Yushan funded four places and the physical therapy camp charges NT$7,900. More are listed in our guide to free and low-cost camps.
