Outdoor Adventure · Entering Grades 4–10 · Overnight · Taoyuan and Tainan
Outward Bound Taiwan (台灣外展教育發展基金會) runs overnight adventure camps for children grouped by school grade: an elementary group for children entering grades 4 to 6, and a junior high group for those entering grade 7 through entering grade 10. In summer 2026 there were four camps: 6-day, 5-night Classic, Base and Challenge camps, and a 10-day, 9-night Expedition camp. Those camps are now over, and the 2027 dates were not published when we checked on Oct 15, 2026.
The 2026 Classic Camp met at Jianshanpi in Liuying, Tainan, with reservoir kayaking, tree climbing, orienteering, service learning and outdoor skills. The Base, Challenge and Expedition camps met at the Longtan base in Taoyuan. The Challenge Camp added high ropes, river tracing and a hike on Hehuanshan, and the Expedition Camp, for the junior high group only, included the Syakaro historic trail.
This suits families looking for an overnight camp rather than a day program. For the 2026 Classic Camp, the operator said there was no schedule given out and no phones, so it fits children who are ready for that kind of independence. The fee covered meals, lodging, the course, equipment and insurance.
